The most powerful resumes are those which motivate a person to call you... a resume which immediately triggers a reaction such as “John really looks great. I think he could help us.”
For most people this is going to be a one-page universal resume, introduced by a one page cover letter with 5 or 6 short paragraphs.
However, for executives there is nothing more powerful than a very well written biography. These are usually 3 to 5 pages and are written in narrative form. They are like articles that might introduce an executive who is speaking at a major convention.
And when done properly, they have commanding distinction and are very impressive. They can set a stage for you, and have senior people looking forward to meeting with you. Depending on your income level, the following will prove very helpful in helping you develop a resume with a lot of power.
